General Training Information

Jessica’s training methods combine natural horsemanship and dressage principles in order to create a horse who is a willing, happy, and respectful partner. She believes that the ultimate horse is soft to the rider in every way and confident in the rider’s positive leadership. She believes that the ultimate rider is balanced with a following seat, kind but assertive and confident, and understands that horses act like horses.

Her training always begins with groundwork, as she believes that respect and understanding between horse and rider must happen on the ground before it can happen under saddle. Confidence in each other on the ground creates confidence in the saddle.

The basics of dressage teach that a horse should travel in a forward, relaxed manner, pushing from the hind end and softly accepting the rider’s hand.  Jessica believes that training these basics create a foundation for a horse to excel in any discipline.

Owner involvement in the training process is required. One lesson per week is included in both full and partial training packages.

Full Training is $350/month

Partial Training is $200/month

Jessica bought Samira as a project horse, restarted her after not being ridden for 7years, and sold her to a student. Samira and her new owner make a great team.
